About Me

I am a Pennsylvania licensed psychologist who works with diverse client concerns. I use an evidence-based approach which calls upon up-to-date research to ensure my clients obtain the most effective care possible. I received my doctorate in clinical psychology from Marywood University in 2010 but have been working as a psychotherapist since 2004. My laid-back approach and 'outside of the box’ style have yielded extremely positive results for the vast majority of the individuals, couples, and families that I have worked with.

Another area of my professional functions is teaching. In addition to my practice, I am an Associate Professor of Psychology at Keystone College and serve as the Director of Counseling for the Keystone College Counseling Center.

I am a tech-lover and video gamer that looks for opportunities to apply some of my personal interests to various aspects of my professional life.

My office is conveniently located in Clarks Summit, PA, minutes from both I-81 and the Northeast Extension of the PA Turnpike.

Starting Therapy

What pops into your mind when you think of 'being in therapy’? The idea of therapy can conjure up a wide array of reactions in people. While some see it as something awkward and uncomfortable intended for 'crazy’ people, many other see it for what it actually is, an effective, healthy way to address concerns related to mental health. It is true that some individuals may suffer from severe forms of mental illness but a far greater number of individuals suffer from their own challenges that while not 'severe’, still impact their lives greatly.

This is where therapy comes in. Unlike popular portrayals on TV or in Film, a therapist’s job is not to 'give advice’ but rather we use scientifically supported methods to help people confront their concerns in an effective manner. All too often people hear comments like 'get over it’ or 'it’s all in your head’ when they turn to others about their concerns. In therapy, we work to support our clients in learning to control their problems instead of allowing their problems to control them.
